Elise and Christopher’s Spring Improv

Elise and I have improvised flute and piano duets for the last 20 years.  She now lives in Los Angeles but yesterday a stick drive arrived in the mail here in New Mexico with a recording from her.  I took it to my river cabin.  I woke up at dawn in the open intuitive headspace from which I create sculpture and music and improvised to her piece.  The music is informing my aesthetic for the new “Blooms” garden sculpture series I am creating for my upcoming July show at Santa Fe’s La Mesa Gallery.
